NOW THAT YOU'VE ELECTED TO FILE CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY - WHAT PROCEDURE
IS INVOLVED IN DOING SO?STEP ONE: OBTAIN CREDIT COUNSELING
FROM AN APPROVED NONPROFIT CREDIT COUNSELING AGENCY. UPON COMPLETION OF
THE COUNSELING YOU WILL BE PROVIDED A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.

STEP TWO. Call and make an
appointment. We've available to take your calls Monday through Friday -
9:00 A.M. through 5:30 P.M., as well as Saturday mornings.
STEP THREE. We will sit down with you to discuss your finances and
give you options. We do not charge for our first meeting with you
- so the meeting is on us!
STEP FOUR. Provided that you otherwise qualify to file a chapter
7 bankruptcy we will prepare all of the necessary papers for filing with
the Court house. Assuming you have all the required paperwork in place -
we will file your case with the Bankruptcy Court the same day as to sign
off on your documents.
STEP FIVE. You will be asked to come to the courthouse and
otherwise attend what is known as a "first meeting of creditors".
The meeting is held approximately 30 days after you file. We will
meet you at the courthouse and guide you through the meeting.
STEP SIX. You may want to keep certain assets in your
bankruptcy. Accordingly, we will prepare any and all "Reaffirmation
Agreements" that you may need to sign.
STEP SEVEN. Prior to receiving your discharge - you will be
required to attend a "Debtor Education Course" provided by a Debtor
Education Provider. Debtor education and certification thereof are
pre-requisites to a discharge.
STEP EIGHT. Provided you have met the requirements above you will receive a discharge of your debts
approximately 2-3 months after you attended the above mentioned first
meeting of creditors.
